To optimize fuel consumption and provide the ultimate in control, it utilizes a synchronized group of efficient propulsion and maneuvering equipment from Twin Disc. The team at Humphreys Yacht Design specified Cummins QSM 11 engines, paired with Twin Disc’s reliable QuickShift® MGX 5095SC marine transmissions and EC 300 Control System. This allows the 90-ton ecHo 85 to achieve an optimal 12 kt cruising speed, while sipping fuel. At 85′ long, slow-speed maneuvering control is critical, especially when wind and tides are a condition. With an Express Joystick System® (EJS®) and proportional hydraulic bow and stern thrusters from Twin Disc, the ecHo 85 moves without hesitation in almost unlimited directions.
